Volunteer to be a Mentor or Counselor:

Mentors and counselors should fill out the application form and ask one person to send a reference. Both can be downloaded and emailed to the Symposium at utpcr@uts.cc.utexas.edu.

Graduating Seniors may wish to attend the symposium as Assistant Mentors. They would pay the regular fees but would receive additional training and serve as small group leaders, asking the first question or making the first comment in lectures, and helping the counselors and mentors. It’s a good opportunity to practice leadership and responsibility with some guidance.

There is still room for additional volunteers to:

Sleep in the dorm Sunday through Friday nights.
Demonstrate 1 activity (dance, game) (2-hour commitment once or more).
Produce the music video (help teach how to use the cameras, plan shots & story, or edit)
Lead students in creation of a blog based on the symposium.
Attend the whole symposium with the students.
Attend art time (10am-4pm).
Attend part time (4 pm -10 pm).
Or propose an activity you think would be a great contribution.
Donate tax-deductible money for scholarships.
Donate goods (snacks, notebooks, pens, ping pong paddles, etc).
Help with publicity.

All volunteers who work with the symposium participants must submit applications and references, and undergo criminal background checks.
